Doris Makes Ireland Team While McCarthy Misses Out

Second row Joe McCarthy, on the other hand, was not considered after not recovering from the foot injury suffered during the opening British and Irish Lions Test against the Wallabies in the summer.
Northern province player Cormac Izuchukwu and Munster wing Calvin Nash are also absent because of fitness concerns, while number 15 Hugo Keenan was previously excluded after undergoing hip surgery after the summer tour.
Dublin province prop Paddy McCarthy - Joe's younger brother - is the only uncapped member in the 34-player group, but the Irish Rugby Football Union says new provincial duo Edwin Edogbo and Gleeson and once-capped Connacht winger Bolton will travel to Chicago as "cover".
After playing the New Zealand at Soldier Field in a repeat of their 2016 meeting, the team host the Brave Blossoms, Australia and world title holders the Springboks in Dublin.
"It's an exciting group to the panel and there's an opportunity for the veteran players and for the newcomers on the summer tour to Georgia and Portugal," said the coach, back to Ireland duty after a break to lead the British and Irish Lions to Australia.
In a mostly experienced selection, Leinster's Prendergast and Munster's Jack Crowley will once again vie for the starting fly-half position. The number 10 jersey is remains available, as Prendergast and Crowley poised to play against each other for the first time in the upcoming United Rugby Championship match at the Dublin venue.
Frawley is the third number 10 chosen as the coach opting against selecting the province's Harry Byrne.
At number 9, Farrell has selected British and Irish Lion Gibson-Park and Craig Casey, who captained Ireland to the summer Test victories over Georgia and the Lobos. Additionally, there is a recall for the western province's Caolin Blade, chosen to teammate Ben Murphy.
Henshaw, Aki, Ringrose and Stuart McCloskey represent an veteran group of midfield choices. Jamie Osborne is a further choice in the centres, but the youngster is additionally a frontrunner to deputise for the full-back at number 15.
Outside backs James Lowe, Mack Hansen, O'Brien and Stockdale are named. The winger impressed on his first Ireland outings during the summer with two tries apiece in the victories over the Lelos and the Lobos.
McCarthy is the sole new addition in the Ireland pack. The loose-head prop has started two of Leinster's URC league matches this season and played in the second string's defeat by the English in Bristol previously.
McCarthy was included in interim boss O'Connell's summer squad, yet did not receive a cap.
Southern province lock Thomas Ahern, who received his first two caps in those matches, is retained, while experienced Northern province second row Henderson returns after sitting out the summer tour.
Conan, who played in all three Lions matches during the tour, is set to deputise for Doris should the skipper does not regain fitness in time to play the All Blacks.
