Diving into a Unusual Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Turdy Character in a Mission to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and players have discovered numerous interesting creations from small studios. Yet, one stands out for its unconventional concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled platformer features a hero that is truly a dung attempting to travel to a toilet. For those curious, "Unko" means "poop."

The gameplay is simple: press a one button to leap. Across 150 challenges, encounter tough enemies and unlock a store to acquire skins for your dung hero.

Execute your movements with caution, as a mistake requires starting over. Jump using floating orbs to propel yourself to new heights, cross disappearing surfaces, and activate buttons to unlock secret routes. Gather UN-KOINS and use them on more difficult levels in which things ramps up.

Visually, the experience features eye-catching stages and a killer background music. The simple art with shifting abstract forms could recall fans of beloved games like Earthbound.

Even though difficult to recall similar titles where you play as a coiled turd, gaming frequently featured toilet humor. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players craft explosives from character waste. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ feces as plant food. Naturally, such content is present heavily in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its humorous idea, Unko Technica has already received impressive accolades, including being named best at Bandai Namco's game competition in 2023. A playable preview is accessible now on Steam, with the full game set to arrive on Steam this November.
