BF6 Gamers Agree: Challenges Are Overly Demanding

The release of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 garnered significant enthusiasm, particularly for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, live player figures reached a high of nearly 750,000. However, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are protesting against a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are mandatory to unlock specific weapons.

Players have started resorting to personalized games created through Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how demanding these missions have become.

Grasping Battlefield 6 Objectives

Assignments are Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. There are four classes of assignments, but where most simply offer outfits and select equipment, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of getting twelve from the forty-one primary weapons present in the game.

Several of these restricted firearms might eventually make their appearance on rosters of the best guns in Battlefield 6.

Community Frustration on Reddit

On Reddit, players are justifiably expressing their worries about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. An individual player pointed out one of the most extreme examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
  • Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs

"This mission is so terrible and entirely ill-conceived, I want to tear my hair out," is a statement that captures just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

Meanwhile, using an LMG from the hip is extremely unreliable and functions solely at extremely close range, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Overly Demanding Challenge

One more community participant brought attention to a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the long-range weapon type to obtain the PSR:

  • Secure 150 precision takedowns from more than 200 meters away with long-range weapons

This is challenging enough on its own, but there's one more key thing to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at such a long range.

There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but because there are just nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it means you're limited to playing New Sobek City, Mirak Valley, and perhaps a classic map if you're lucky if you want to snipe from over 200m away.

The Alternative Method

Nevertheless, a method exists: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on whatever map you choose, including AI opponents. This allows you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't really seem like the developer's vision.

But when completing the missions in a standard match feels like anti-playing, since you must engage in such an atypical style that offers no advantage to anyone, who can blame someone for completing them in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?

Future Adjustments

It should not be shocking if a number of these missions are adjusted to be less difficult in the coming days or weeks, because if they're not, certain gamers simply are unlikely to obtain the restricted guns.

Currently, the community continues to voice their opinions on these strenuous multiplayer missions, hoping for a less arduous player experience in subsequent patches.
